Tenant applied for an order determining that the Landlord withheld or interfered with their vital services or care services and meals in a care home, and failed to meet the Landlord's maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 or failed to comply with health, safety, housing or maintenance standards.

The ruling

The Tenant's request for review is granted. The Landlord is ordered to pay the Tenant $787.50 as rent abatement for the 3-month period the Tenant was without adequate heat. The Landlord must pay the full amount by November 3, 2024, or the Tenant may deduct it from future rent payments.
