What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because they did not meet a condition specified in a previous LTB order. The Landlord alleged the Tenants were smoking cannabis inside the rental unit in breach of the previous order.

The ruling

The Tenancy is terminated effective October 31, 2024. If the unit is not vacated by that date, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement starting November 1, 2024. The Tribunal declined to impose another conditional order, finding the Tenants did not comply with the previous one and were unlikely to comply going forward. However, the Tribunal postponed the eviction to October 31, 2024 to provide the Tenants time to find new living arrangements.
