What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant due to the tenant's failure to meet the conditions specified in a previous LTB order. The tenant failed to pay the outstanding rent arrears and the current month's rent by the due dates.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective April 29, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $11,007.36, which includes rent arrears up to April 18, 2023 and the cost of the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest. The tenant must also pay the landlord $47.67 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting April 19, 2023 until the tenant vacates.
