What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant's failure to pay rent as required by a previous LTB order. The previous order required the Tenant to make specific rent payments by certain due dates, and the Landlord filed this application after the Tenant failed to make the March 2023 rent payment.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective May 8, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $7,066.50, which includes rent arrears up to April 27, 2023 and the cost of the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay the Landlord $37.26 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting April 28, 2023 until the Tenant moves out.
