What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant because the Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year by the Landlord's son.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective June 30, 2023. The Landlord must pay the Tenant $300 compensation by June 19, 2023. If the unit is not vacated by June 30, 2023, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement, and the Tenant must pay the Landlord $9.86 per day for use of the unit starting July 1, 2023 until the Tenant moves out.
