What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants due to persistent late payment of rent. The Landlord served a valid N8 notice on the Tenants, alleging late rent payments from March 2022 to September 2023.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective April 30, 2024. If the unit is not vacated by March 30, 2024, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff for enforcement starting May 1, 2024. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $186 for the application fee. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount owing by March 25, 2024, they will owe interest at 7% annually starting March 26, 2024.
