What happened

The Landlords applied for termination of the tenancy and eviction due to the Tenant's failure to pay rent. The Landlord George Eliopoulos and an agent attended the hearing, while the Tenant did not appear despite being served notice. The Landlord testified that the Tenant had promised to pay arrears after a personal conversation but had made no payments since May 2025.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 22, 2025, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $11,186.00. If the Tenant does not pay, they must vacate by August 22, 2025. If the order is not voided, the Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $8,465.37, representing arrears to the hearing date and costs, minus the rent deposit and interest. Daily compensation of $65.75 applies from August 6, 2025, until the unit is vacated.
