What happened
The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to significant rent arrears. The Tenant failed to attend the hearing despite being properly served. The Landlord provided evidence that the Tenant had not made any payments since the application was filed and that the arrears had grown considerably.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective October 3, 2025, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying the specified arrears and costs. If the Tenant does not void the order, they must vacate by October 3, 2025, and pay the Landlord $11,796.98 plus daily compensation of $62.47 until they move out. The Landlord is authorized to file for eviction enforcement with the Sheriff if the unit is not vacated.
