What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year. The Landlord lost his job and wants to sell his current property to downsize and move into the cheaper rental unit.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective February 29, 2024. The Landlord is required to resend the remaining $26.14 of compensation to the Tenant by November 30, 2023.
