What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant's failure to meet the conditions specified in a previous LTB order, including not paying $3,000 towards outstanding arrears and not paying the full rent for February 2023.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective May 7, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $18,670.53 (less any payments made after February 28, 2023) by May 7, 2023. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by May 7, 2023, the Tenant will start owing interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance starting May 8, 2023. The Landlord is also entitled to daily compensation of $131.51 per day starting April 27, 2023 until the Tenant moves out.
