What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant due to the tenant's failure to pay rent as required by a previous LTB order. The landlord was entitled to apply for this order without a hearing since the tenant did not meet the condition specified in the previous order.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective June 3, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $5,929.23 plus $23.01 per day from May 24, 2023 until the tenant vacates the unit. If the tenant does not pay the full amount by June 3, 2023, the tenant will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
