What happened

The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant moved into the unit in May 2025 and failed to pay any rent after the initial first month's payment. The Tenant did not attend the hearing and previously refused the Landlord entry for an inspection.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective October 21, 2025, unless the Tenant pays $3,836.00 by that date to void the order. If the Tenant does not pay, she must vacate the unit by October 21, 2025. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $2,775.75 for arrears and filing costs, plus daily compensation of $29.59 from September 26, 2025, until the unit is vacated.
