What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring the Former Tenant to pay rent and daily compensation owed. The application was resolved by order LTB-L-061240-22 issued on October 13, 2023, with only the Landlord attending the hearing. The Former Tenant requested a review of the order, which was granted as the Former Tenant was not reasonably able to participate in the original hearing due to medical reasons.

The ruling

The Former Tenant shall pay the Landlord $4,139.73 by March 12, 2024, which represents rent and compensation owing up to February 28, 2022 and the cost of filing the application. If the Former Tenant does not pay the full amount by the due date, they will start to owe interest at 7.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
