What happened
The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant due to the tenant's failure to pay rent as ordered in a previous LTB order. The current application was filed within 30 days of the breach of the previous order.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective May 7, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $1,984.10 in rent arrears and $22.85 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting April 27, 2023 until the tenant vacates. If the tenant does not pay the full amount by May 7, 2023, the tenant will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
