What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenants due to their failure to meet the conditions specified in a previous LTB order. The tenants failed to pay the outstanding rent arrears and the March 2023 rent by the due dates.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective May 16, 2023. The tenants must pay the landlord $6,083.09 (less any payments made after March 17, 2023) for rent arrears, application fees, and NSF charges, less the rent deposit and interest. The tenants must also pay $53.88 per day in compensation for continued occupation starting May 6, 2023 until they vacate the unit.
