What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant due to the tenant's failure to meet a condition specified in a previous LTB order, which was to pay the lawful monthly rent on or before May 1, 2023.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective June 13, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $4,098.86 (less any payments made after the application was filed on May 4, 2023) for rent arrears and the cost of the previous application. The tenant must also pay the landlord $28.93 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting June 3, 2023 until the tenant vacates. If the tenant does not pay the full amount by June 13, 2023, the tenant will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
