What happened

Tenant 1 requested a review of an order terminating the tenancy for rent arrears, alleging he was unable to participate reasonably and that a serious error occurred. He claimed to have made cash payments and that renovation costs should have been considered. The Board reviewed the previous hearing recording and found that Tenant 1 participated fully, was asked for evidence of cash payments but had none, and admitted renovation costs were a separate matter unrelated to rent.

The ruling

The LTB denied the Tenants' request for a review of the order issued on June 25, 2025. The original order remains unchanged. The Board determined that the Tenants were given a fair opportunity to participate and that there were no serious errors in the original decision regarding rent arrears.
