What happened
The Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant for non-payment of rent. A previous order from May 2025 was reviewed upon the Tenant's request. The Tenant, a long-term resident of 17 years living with her partner and children, sought a repayment plan. The Landlords alleged the Tenant was dishonest regarding her income and household composition. However, the Board found the Tenant had made significant efforts to reduce the arrears and granted relief from eviction conditional upon a strict repayment schedule.
The ruling
The Tenant is ordered to pay $4,942.00 in arrears and costs according to a monthly repayment schedule of $540.00 starting November 1, 2025, plus current rent. If the Tenant makes all payments as scheduled, the eviction is stayed. If the Tenant misses a payment, the Landlord may apply for an ex parte eviction order within 30 days of the breach.
