What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenants due to their failure to meet a condition specified in a previous LTB order. The tenants were required to pay $225 towards the outstanding arrears by May 21, 2023, but they failed to do so.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective July 2, 2023. The tenants must pay the landlord $5,378.64 (less any payments made after the application was filed) and $11.84 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting June 22, 2023 until the tenants move out. If the full amount is not paid by July 2, 2023, the tenants will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
