What happened
Landlords applied to evict Tenants for non-payment of rent. The Tenants, facing financial hardship after one lost her job, accumulated significant arrears over eight months. The Board found the tenancy untenable and ordered termination but delayed the eviction date to mid-June to allow the Tenants time to find new housing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective June 15, 2025, unless the Tenants pay the outstanding amount of $16,382.00 by May 31, 2025, or $18,966.00 by June 15, 2025, to void the order. If the Tenants fail to void the order and vacate, they must pay the Landlords $13,167.32 for arrears up to the hearing date, plus daily compensation of $84.95 from May 22, 2025, until they move out. The eviction can be enforced by the Sheriff on or after June 16, 2025.
