What happened
The Landlord applied for the termination of tenancy and eviction of the Tenants due to persistent non-payment of rent since the inception of the tenancy in April 2025. Despite an agreement to make weekly catch-up payments starting in July 2025, the Tenants failed to provide any payments beyond a partial amount in May 2025. The Tenants did not attend the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective September 8, 2025. The Tenants are ordered to pay $4,428.01 to the Landlord for rent arrears and filing fees (after deposit credits). The Tenants may void the order by paying $7,086.00 by August 31, 2025, or $9,086.00 by September 8, 2025. If they fail to pay or move out, the Landlord may enforce eviction through the Sheriff starting September 9, 2025.
