What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant because the rental unit is the superintendent's premises and the Tenant's employment as superintendent has ended. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective May 14, 2023. The Tenant must vacate the unit by this date. If the unit is not vacated, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff for enforcement. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $8,988.09, which includes compensation for 153 days of occupancy after employment termination and the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by May 14, 2023, they will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
