What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent as per the previous order. The Tenants failed to pay $1,000 towards the outstanding arrears by March 20, 2023 and the April 2023 rent by April 1, 2023 as required by the previous order.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective May 26, 2023. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $10,109.39, which includes the remaining rent arrears from the previous order and the April 2023 rent, less the rent deposit and interest. The Tenants must also pay $66.33 per day in compensation for continued occupancy starting May 16, 2023 until they vacate the unit.
