What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring the Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for the period from February 16, 2021 to November 30, 2021. The tenancy ended on November 30, 2021 as a result of the Tenant moving out.
The ruling
The Tenant owes the Landlord $4,524.09 in rent arrears and application costs, after deducting a $1,248 rent rebate for maintenance issues. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by February 25, 2024, they will start owing interest at 7% annually on the outstanding balance.
