What happened
The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants due to non-payment of rent. The Tenants failed to attend the hearing. Evidence showed that while the Tenants had paid $3,000.00 since the application was filed, significant arrears remained. The adjudicator noted that the tenancy was short-lived and arrears began shortly after moving in.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenants pay the required amounts to void the order. To continue the tenancy, the Tenants must pay $5,291.47 by August 31, 2025, or $7,600.13 by September 2, 2025. If the Tenants do not void the order, they must move out by September 2, 2025, and pay the Landlord $1,639.50 plus daily compensation of $75.90 until they vacate.
