What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant's failure to meet a condition specified in a previous order issued by the Board on May 23, 2023. The Tenant failed to pay the rent for June 2023 and the arrears of $1,690.00 on or before June 1, 2023.
The ruling
The tenancy between the Landlord and the Tenant is terminated effective November 30, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $8,974.59, which includes the rent arrears up to September 28, 2023, less the rent deposit and interest on the deposit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by November 26, 2023, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 7.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
