What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant because the tenant did not meet a condition specified in a previous order issued by the LTB on October 12, 2022. The tenant failed to pay the lawful monthly rent on or before May 1, 2023 and failed to pay $1000 towards arrears on or before April 30, 2023.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective June 5, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $2,326.53 plus $71.70 per day starting May 26, 2023 until the tenant moves out. If the tenant does not pay the full amount by June 5, 2023, the tenant will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance starting June 6, 2023.
