What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant's failure to meet the conditions specified in a previous LTB order. The Tenant did not pay the full rent for April 2023 and did not pay $2,000 towards arrears by the due dates.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective June 3, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $16,385.51, which includes rent arrears up to May 23, 2023, less the rent deposit and interest. The Tenant must also pay the Landlord $98.63 per day for use of the unit starting May 24, 2023 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by June 3, 2023, the Tenant will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
