What happened
The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenants due to their failure to meet a condition specified in a previous LTB order. The tenants were required to pay $300 towards the outstanding arrears by March 1, 2023, but they failed to do so.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective May 12, 2023. The tenants must pay the landlord $5,752.35 (less any payments made after March 7, 2023) for rent arrears and the cost of the previous application. The tenants must also pay the landlord $45.52 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting May 2, 2023 until they vacate. If the full amount is not paid by May 12, 2023, the tenants will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
