What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed. The Tenants vacated the rental unit on April 30, 2024 without proper notice, and did not pay the full rent for April 2024.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated as of May 31, 2024. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $2,575.97, which includes rent arrears up to the move-out date and the application filing fee, minus the rent deposit and interest. If the Tenants do not pay by September 22, 2024, they will owe interest at 7% annually on the outstanding balance.
