What happened
The Landlords filed a request to review a previous LTB order, arguing that serious errors were made regarding utility costs and a claim for cockroach treatment. The Landlords claimed new evidence showed a higher utility balance than what was awarded at the hearing and sought to introduce evidence of a cockroach infestation and related repair costs that were previously rejected for lack of proof.
The ruling
The Landlords' request for a review of the order dated April 4, 2025, was denied. The Adjudicator found that the Landlords failed to demonstrate a serious error or provide a sufficient reason why their 'new' evidence could not have been presented during the initial hearing. The original order, which awarded $1,642.97 for utilities but denied $600.00 for pest control, remains in effect.
