What happened
The Tenant requested a review of an LTB order that dismissed her maintenance application. The Tenant argued that the Board made a serious error by allowing the Landlord's child to act as an interpreter during the hearing, alleging that the translations were inaccurate and included personal opinions. The Vice Chair reviewed the hearing recording and found that the interpreter translated accurately and immediately without improper dialogue or interjection of personal opinions.
The ruling
The Tenant's request for a review of the July 16, 2025 order is denied. The original order remains in effect as the Tenant failed to prove any serious error in the proceedings or the translation process. The original finding that the Landlord met maintenance obligations stands.
