What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to meet a condition specified in a previous order issued on November 2, 2022. The Tenant failed to pay the lawful monthly rent on or before March 7, 2023 and failed to pay $500.00 towards arrears on or before March 15, 2023.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective May 26, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $6,239.80 (less any payments made after the application was filed on April 6, 2023) and $49.32 per day for compensation for the use of the unit starting May 16, 2023 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by May 26, 2023, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 6.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
