What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to the Tenant's conduct that substantially interfered with the Landlord's reasonable enjoyment of the building and the Landlord's lawful rights. The Landlord alleged that the Tenant was inattentive and caused fire safety issues in the building.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective June 11, 2023. The Tenant must vacate the rental unit by that date. If the unit is not vacated, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $186 for the application filing costs. If the amount is not paid by June 15, 2023, the Tenant will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
