What happened
The Landlord applied for eviction due to non-payment of rent. One co-tenant had already vacated. The remaining Tenant had accrued significant arrears over 8 months without making any payments, citing personal difficulties. The Tenant proposed a payment plan, but the Board found it unrealistic and denied it. The Board granted the eviction but postponed the enforcement date to allow the Tenant time to move.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant pays $32,186.00 by June 21, 2025. If the payment is not made, the Tenant must vacate by that date and pay the Landlord $25,637.09 plus daily compensation of $105.21 from April 30, 2025. The Tenant's request for a payment plan was denied as unrealistic due to an 8-month period of non-payment.
