What happened
Tenant appealed three LTB decisions in favor of the landlord: terminating tenancy and evicting tenant, dismissing tenant's allegations of harassment and interference with reasonable enjoyment, and dismissing tenant's allegations of landlord's failure to maintain the property. Tenant missed initial LTB hearings and applied for review, which was rejected.
The ruling
The court found that the parties had resolved their differences regarding the tenant's continued tenancy. A new Renewal of Tenancy Agreement was entered into on October 22, 2015, for a one-year term ending January 31, 2017. The tenant provided a money order of $1,245.46 for prepaid rent. The landlord's renewal of the tenancy made the appeal of the eviction order unnecessary. The court ordered no costs and reimbursement of $500 to the tenant for out-of-pocket expenses.
