What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant because the Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year by the Landlord's son.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 15, 2023. The Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before August 15, 2023. If the unit is not vacated by that date, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) to enforce the eviction. The Landlord owes the Tenant $1,441.48 for the rent deposit and interest, but the Landlord may deduct $49.48 per day for compensation for the Tenant's use of the unit from July 1, 2023 until the Tenant moves out.
