What happened
The Landlords applied for termination of the tenancy and eviction due to non-payment of rent. The Tenants admitted to arrears of $17,000.00 as of August 31, 2025, but requested relief from eviction based on financial hardship caused by job loss and maternity leave.
The ruling
The LTB ordered the Tenants to pay $17,186.00 in arrears and costs according to a multi-year payment schedule ending March 1, 2027. Additionally, the Tenants must pay current rent for September and October 2025 by October 31, 2025. Failure to meet any payment allows the Landlord to apply for an ex parte eviction order within 30 days of the breach.
