What happened

Tenant appealed LTB's review order denying request to review a consent order. The consent order set rent arrears at $10,700 and agreed on a payment schedule. LTB terminated tenancy when Tenant failed to make payments. Tenant claims his minor son is also a tenant who wasn't given notice of the hearing.

The ruling

The court ordered the tenant to pay $12,000 in arrears by November 30, 2022, and $1,345 monthly rent starting December 1, 2022. Failure to pay will result in lifting the stay on the eviction order. The court deferred ruling on the validity of the appeal pending an upcoming LTB hearing.
