What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Landlord served a valid N4 Notice, which the Tenant did not void by paying the arrears. The Tenant was in possession of the rental unit on the date the application was filed.

The ruling

The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $2,810.86, which includes rent arrears up to March 31, 2023 and the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by May 23, 2023, the Tenant will start owing interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
