What happened
The Landlord applied to evict the Tenant for non-payment of rent. The Tenant attended the hearing and requested relief from eviction, citing health issues, family size (four dependant children), and difficulties in finding new affordable housing. The Tenant requested a payment plan and a 90-day delay in eviction. The Landlord opposed a payment plan, arguing the Tenant continues to accumulate arrears.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $3,978.47 by April 30, 2025, or $5,880.80 by May 31, 2025. The eviction is postponed until May 31, 2025, to allow the Tenant time to find new housing. If the Tenant fails to void the order and does not move out, they must pay the Landlord $776.80 plus daily compensation of $62.54 from April 1, 2025.
