What happened

The Former Landlord, Krafa Consultants & Management Inc., applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant, Ron Gordon, due to non-payment of rent. The application was amended to add the new Landlord, Pier 4 Residential, after the property was sold on December 7, 2022. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant pays $9,536 to void the order by May 23, 2023. If the Tenant does not pay, the tenancy is terminated, and the Tenant must pay $6,005.37 to the Landlord, which includes rent arrears and the application filing fee, minus the rent deposit and interest.
