What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Landlord's N4 notice of termination was found to be defective, so the Landlord amended the application to be under Section 87(1) of the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $11,558.17, which includes $11,372.17 in rent arrears up to April 30, 2023 and $186 in filing costs. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by June 3, 2023, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
