What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring the Former Tenant to pay rent and daily compensation owed, as well as the Landlord's reasonable out-of-pocket costs due to the Former Tenant's conduct that substantially interfered with the Landlord's reasonable enjoyment, and the Former Tenant's failure to pay required utility costs.

The ruling

The Former Tenant shall pay the Landlord $875.90 in rent and compensation, $23.23 for the costs to remove an abandoned couch, $222.41 for unpaid utility costs, and $201 for the application filing fee, for a total of $1,322.54. If the Former Tenant does not pay the full amount by November 19, 2023, they will owe interest at 7% annually on the outstanding balance.
