What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant's failure to pay rent arrears as required by a previous LTB order. The Tenant paid the arrears after the application was filed, but the Landlord was still entitled to the order.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective June 20, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $7,587.45, which includes the remaining rent arrears from the previous order and new arrears, less the rent deposit and interest. The Tenant must also pay the Landlord $60.82 per day in compensation starting June 10, 2023 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by June 20, 2023, they will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
