What happened

The Tenant originally applied for an order determining that the Landlord gave a notice of termination in bad faith. A previous order (LTB-T-013289-23) was issued on May 23, 2025. The Landlord requested a review of that order. During the review hearing, both parties reached a consent agreement to cancel the previous order and settle the matter with a lump sum payment from the Landlord to the Tenant.

The ruling

The LTB granted the Landlord's request for review by consent. The previous order issued on May 23, 2025, is cancelled and replaced by this consent order. The Landlord is ordered to pay the Tenant $7,500.00 by July 16, 2025, as a final settlement. If payment is not made on time, interest will accrue at 4.00% annually.
