What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent as per the previous LTB order. The Tenant failed to pay the lawful rent of $500 by the due date of February 10, 2023.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective May 2, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $5,887.74, which includes rent arrears, compensation for use of the unit, and the cost of the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by May 2, 2023, the Tenant will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
