What happened
The Landlord applied for eviction due to rent arrears. This hearing was a 'de novo' hearing, granted after the Tenant requested a review of a previous eviction order. The Tenant did not attend the new hearing. The Board found the rent arrears were minimal but upheld the termination unless the Tenant pays the outstanding amount, application fee, and previously incurred Sheriff fees.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant pays the Landlord $621.85 by June 30, 2025. This amount covers rent arrears, the application fee, and Sheriff fees from a previous enforcement action. If payment is not made, the Tenant must vacate by June 30, 2025, and the Landlord can file for eviction with the Sheriff on July 1, 2025. The Board denied relief from eviction due to the Tenant's failure to attend the hearing they requested.
