What happened

The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant had recently applied for financial assistance to pay the rent arrears, but ultimately agreed to a final order giving the Tenant until July 11, 2023 to pay all the arrears.

The ruling

The tenancy will be terminated on July 11, 2023 unless the Tenant pays the full amount owing by that date. The Tenant may void the order and continue the tenancy by paying the full amount owing by May 31, June 30, or July 11, 2023. If the Tenant does not void the order, the Tenant must move out by July 11, 2023 and pay the Landlord $5,612.14, which includes rent arrears and the cost of filing the application, minus the rent deposit and interest.
