What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to wilful or negligent damage to the rental unit. Landlords also claimed compensation for unpaid utility costs and repair costs.
The ruling
The Tenants shall pay the Landlords $23,324.16, which includes $416.38 for unpaid utility costs and $22,721.78 for the reasonable costs of repairing the damage and replacing the damaged property. The Tenants will start to owe interest at 7.00% annually on the balance outstanding if the full amount is not paid by December 24, 2023.
